Weekly Game Update

The Server has been updated to the latest version. Game has been tested and considered functioning - you can update your game; outdated game clients might not be able to join anymore.

Hello guys, and girls it's Friday, so here are this weeks space engineers update notes:
Taken from here

- deathmatch scenario support
- new scenario condition: setting the amount of lives in a scenario
- new scenario condition: all others lost
- block settings: medical room ownership for the first player spawned in a scenario- block settings: set a projector to instant building in scenario
- possibility to make a selected grid indestructible in scenario

None of these updates influence life on our server directly.

Yet I'm happy to also being able to link a blog post from one of SEs lead developers in which he's talking about a big new upcoming feature: planets.

You can read the blog here, just to give you a short round up:

- Planets will be implemented soon (some code has already been implemented)
- they will be 30 to 50 km large (which is not realistic, but definitely enough to give a planetary feeling)
- they can have 0 to 3 moons, each 8-10 km large
- planets will have a natural gravity that will not only affect people, but also ships
- They can either have hostile or friendly atmosphere. Friendly means, there will be vegetation on the planets (trees, bushes, grass...) as seen here.
- There will be a sun rotating around the planets ("But it does move!" - Gallileo)
- stations might be trickier to build as you have to link them to one specific block of them (the start block). If that link is destroyed, the loose part might fall onto the planet.

I can't tell yet, if and how far planets will influence our server. We might need to start a new map. That being said, I won't let us begin from zero again - but I don't know how I'll do it yet.
